Countries such as Germany and China are taking the lead in the rapidly growing global market for cleaner technologies. Massachusetts also has the infrastructure, resources, and talent to be a clean technology leader. To identify where, why, and how Massachusetts can become a global leader in clean technology innovations and production, the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production at the University of Massachusetts Lowell launched the Clean Tech Initiative in 2007. The initiative recently published its findings along with policy recommendations in Clean Tech: An Agenda for a Healthy Economy. These findings outline fifteen actions that policy makers and others can take to support a Clean Tech agenda in Massachusetts. The May 26 webinar will be an opportunity to hear from a panel of experts about the Clean Tech Initiative and how you can be part of the Massachusetts Clean Tech economy. Speakers: Ken Geiser, Professor of Work Environment and Co-Director of the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production, University of Massachusetts Lowell Ian Bowles, Secretary, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Greg Bialecki, Secretary, Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development Amy Perlmutter, Principal, Perlmutter Associates Lee Ketelsen, New England Co-Director, Clean Water Action Lisa Petraglia, Director of Economic Research, Economic Development Research Group Bob Halpin, Principal, Intelligent Energy Resources |
